Individualized support that helps students build skills, strengthen regulation, and participate successfully in their school environments.

CORE Methods partners with schools, educators, and families to provide flexible, individualized behavioral support for students experiencing emotional, behavioral, sensory, or social challenges.
Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, CORE works within the student’s educational environment to better understand the factors influencing behavior and develop practical strategies that support safety, connection, learning and independence.
Our goal is to help students build the skills and supports they need to participate successfully in their classrooms, strengthen relationships, and work towards the highest level of independence possible.
Supporting Students Where They Learn
CORE Methods works alongside school teams to help students navigate behavioral, emotional, and social challenges within their educational environments.
Support is tailored to the individual student and may involve identifying underlying needs, developing practical strategies, strengthening communication, and helping educators create environments that promote safety, regulation, and participation.
Whether a student needs additional support within their current classroom or is working toward returning from a more restrictive educational setting, CORE focuses on building the skills, relationships, and supports necessary for meaningful, sustainable integration.

What School-Based Behavioral Support Can Include
CORE Methods provides individualized, collaborative services designed to help schools understand student needs, develop effective strategies, and support successful participation in educational environments.
Depending on the student’s needs and the goals of the educational team, services may include:
Behavioral Assessment & Observation
Review of relevant records, interviews with educational teams, and observations within the student’s current setting and, when appropriate, a proposed reintegration environment. Findings inform recommendations for behavioral strategies, sensory supports, scheduling considerations, and staff training.
Collaborative Team Meetings & Planning
Meetings with educators, administrators, and other support professionals to review findings, establish goals, and develop a coordinated plan. When students are transitioning between settings, planning may include preparing the receiving environment and supporting appropriate closure within the current placement.
Direct Behavioral Support & On-Site Coaching
Hands-on support within the educational environment, including staff coaching, classroom accommodations, schedule modifications, and consultation with the student’s educational team.
Coordination of Additional Support Services
Identification of additional resources, specialized services, or professional supports that may benefit the student and strengthen the overall intervention plan.
Staff Presentations & Training
Practical guidance for school personnel on understanding the student’s behavioral needs, responding to challenging situations, and supporting colleagues who work directly with the student. Presentations may be incorporated into existing staff meetings.
The combination and duration of services are individualized based on student needs, school priorities, and the scope of support requested.
An Individualized, Collaborative Approach
Successful behavioral support requires more than addressing what happens in the moment. CORE Methods considers the broader factors that influence a student’s experiences, including sensory needs, emotional regulation, relationships, communication, environmental demands, and the student’s sense of safety.
Working alongside educators, families, and other members of the support team, CORE helps identify meaningful goals and develop practical strategies that can be adapted as the student progresses.
Our approach draws from a range of behavioral, educational, and relationship-centered practices, allowing support to be tailored to the individual rather than requiring the individual to fit a predetermined model.

Supporting School Teams
Meaningful student progress depends not only on individualized strategies, but also on the people and environments supporting the student.
CORE Methods works collaboratively with educators, administrators, families, and other members of the support team to strengthen behavioral understanding, improve communication, and develop practical approaches that can be used consistently throughout the school day.
Through consultation, modeling, and ongoing collaboration, CORE helps educational teams build confidence in responding to challenges, supporting regulation, and creating environments where students can participate successfully.
Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of school teams while helping students work toward greater independence and reduced reliance on intensive supports.
